 Hotel Description:

The famed Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar serves Asian cuisine and tropical drinks, with live entertainment. The recently completed restoration of the hotel is highlighted by the re-emergence of the Main Lobby as a grand public space. NOTE: This hotel is experiencing a strike of hotel workers, (including cooks, room cleaners, bartenders, bellmen, food and beverage servers, bussers, and dishwashers). The magnificent Grace Cathedral is across the street. These rooms are beautifully decorated in royal blue and gold, and each has a marble bath. With a panoramic view of the City and the Bay from high atop Nob Hill, The Fairmont San Francisco holds an unmatched blend of elegance and superb service for an unforgettable stay. Until then, guests may encounter picket lines upon entering, and some services may be affected. Fine dining is offered onsite at the Laurel Court Restaurant & Bar, featuring contemporary Northern California cuisine, and a selection of rare wines. The "Queen of Nob Hill", this 1906 landmark offers panoramic views of the city, bay, and beyond. For business travelers, the rooms feature a spacious work desk, a multi-line telephone with voice-mail and High Speed Internet Access. Replacement workers are in place, and an end date has not been decided. Recently restored to their original splendor, the Fairmont Rooms are cozy and quiet rooms located in the historical 7-story main building. World-renowned, The Fairmont San Francisco presents an awe-inspiring picture of historic San Francisco. Central to the Financial District, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, The Fairmont San Francisco is located at the only spot in San Francisco where each of the City's cable car lines meet.
